The City of Avondale will be hosting SRP’s Shade Tree Program at City Hall.

i t GREEN BUSINESS PROGRAM:

The City launched a Green Business Program in the Fall of 2018 to recognize businesses for their investments and contributions to operate in a more environmentally responsible way through sustainable practices.

The following Certified Green Businesses are recognized for their commitment to the health of our environment:

` Farmers Insurance ` Hilton Garden Inn ` Homewood Suites by Hilton ` Stotz Equipment ` We Olive & Wine Bar

The City thanks these businesses for:

` REDUCING ` REUSING ` AND RECYCLING!

SRP customers can sign up for a Shade Tree Workshop taught by a Master Gardener. After the workshop, customers receive 2

free shade trees to plant in energy-saving locations around their single-family home. Shading your home helps reduce cooling costs and improve the air quality.

For program requirements and to register for a workshop, visit https://www.srpnet.com/ energy/Rebates/shadeTrees.aspx

The City of Avondale is a member of STORM. Want to know more about the

program or becoming a certified green business? Please visit www.avondaleaz.gov/greenbusiness

Storm drains are found in our streets, parking lots, highways and more. You probably walk by a few of them each day but just don’t think much about them. Storm drains are put in place to gather stormwater runoff and bring it to our local waterways (rivers, lakes, washes, and retention basins). Storm drains don’t remove any pollution before entering our waterways. Stormwater runoff is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the United States. Stormwater will pick up dirt, trash, oil, grease, chemicals, and other pollutants as it flows over parking lots, streets and other impervious surfaces. Find out how you can help us protect our water by reviewing simple pollution prevention tips and ideas by using the link below:
