Avondale Parks and Recreation fields and picnic shelters are offered on a first come, first served basis for our residents. Rent a field or picnic shelter in advance to ensure space is available for you.
FIELDS
✓ Reserve fields up to 30* days in advance for residents
✓ $10** per hour for daytime use (7 am - 5 pm)
✓ $15** per hour for prime time use (5 - 10 pm)
PICNIC SHELTERS ✓ Reserve picnic shelters up to 1 year in advance
✓ Picnic shelters are $50** for a 4-hour block at Friendship Park
✓ Picnic shelters hold a maximum of 30 people
✓ Alcohol permits are available for purchase with a picnic shelter rental

CLASSES DO NOT MEET ON THE FOLLOWING CITY OBSERVED 2019 HOLIDAYS: January 1 (New Year’s Day), January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), February 18 (President’s Day), April 21 (Easter). Any additional dates that classes do not meet are included in course descriptions.

Only fee-based recreation programs require pre-registration. Deadline to register is one week prior to the start date of programs unless otherwise stated. We recommend that you register early for programs and classes (at least two weeks prior). Insufficient registration may result in class cancellation. Registration forms will be processed in the order they are received.

2. In-Person Registration (check, money order, credit, cash): Registrations at the Avondale Civic Center will be handled just like those that are mailed. Drop-off may be made between the hours of 7 am – 6 pm, Mon - Thu (closed on Fri). The Recreation Department is located at City Hall, 11465 W. Civic Center Drive, Suite 100, Avondale, AZ 85323
3. Special Registration: Some programs have special registration procedures. Instructions for registration process are indicated in the program description.
