ART IS ALL AROUND AVONDALE
Avondale is committed to beautifying the city through public art. With support from the City Council and new development, as well as through the efforts of the Avondale Municipal Art Committee, Avondale’s public art collection is growing. Check out our latest two installations:

AVONDALE SUPPORTS COMMUNITY ARTISTS The Avondale Municipal Art Committee offers two programs that encourage artistic talent to flourish in our community.
Avondale’s Art Sponsorship Grant program provides funding annually to non-profit or educational organizations to support and enhance arts education and activities. Schools in Avondale are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants could be awarded up to $1,000 for art enrichment programs, special events or community projects that serve the Avondale community.

The committee also funds an annual scholarship contest, the Mayor Marie High School Art Contest, to encourage high school seniors to pursue higher education opportunities, particularly in the field of art. To date, the committee has awarded $30,000 in scholarship funds to winners. High school seniors are invited to submit their art for the upcoming contest. Art is scheduled to be on display April 15 - 19, 2019. The deadline to apply is April 3, 2019.
