Residents with a Bucket List Wish are Getting Their Dreams Fulfilled

s part of its Dream Weaver pro- gram, Thrive at Green Island is working to make seniors’ wishes
come true. For one recent bucket list wish fulfillment, the senior living community took to the skies with hot air balloon rides for its community members. The tethered ride took their most adventurous residents 30 feet up into the air in a 70-foot-tall bal- loon called KALOS. The Dream Weaver program was created
to aid residents in re-igniting their love for their lifelong passions, as well as give them the ability to have brand new experiences
and find new purpose. This Dream Weaver wish was shared with the Thrive team by senior resident, Thelma Bray, who has al- ways dreamed of riding in a hot air balloon. By giving her the space to dream big, the
Thrive team opened the door to a thrilling experience that they offered to many of their other residents as well. And Bray is not alone is having a wish fulfilled. Anoth- er Thrive at Green Living resident, Steve Stewart, recently had the opportunity to zip line across the Chattahoochee River. According to community relations direc- tor for Thrive, Kerry Jo Brooks, the belief

is that if you have breath in your lungs, you have a purpose. “That ultimately keeps them going,” Brooks said. “Keeps them motivated to keep living and keep striving for healthy lifestyles and so with the Dream Weaver program, we ask them things like this, and then they get super excited when we’re able to provide the opportunity to ignite that passion.” One can easily see the joy in everyone’s
face as they take to sky. The program is clearly providing fun and excitement to resi- dents. Who could ask for anything more?
