WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

If you’re a female working in senior living, you understand the

importance of having a successful career and that there’s always more to learn. However, it can be tough to advance in your field without the proper tools and resources. That’s where the Women in Leadership (WIL) initiative comes in. This unique opportunity provides women working in the senior

living industry with a unique forum to exchange ideas and build relationships with other successful women executives. You’ll network to learn about a wide range of the skills and knowledge you’ll need to move up in your career. With topics that include leadership, net- working and negotiation, the Women in Leadership program has everything you need to succeed. The Argentum Women in Leadership initiative, first announced

in October 2018, is designed to celebrate the contributions women have made to the senior living industry and to create a pathway to the future by forming opportunities for more women to attain leadership and executive level positions. WIL, led by some of the most dynamic women in senior living, has taken the industry by storm with its efforts to disrupt the status quo and ensure more opportunities for women seeking executive positions. “At this moment, senior living is uniquely positioned to cultivate

its majority-female workforce with targeted recruitment; clear equity and inclusion policies; and a culture that welcomes, celebrates, and supports women at all levels,” commented James Balda, Argentum president and CEO.

Whether you’re looking to build on your current skills or explore

new ones, the WIL program can help. The team has developed several online and in-person opportunities to network with other women leaders and learn from some of the best and brightest minds in the business. With information that covers everything from com- munication strategies to managing risk, these programs will help you take your career to the next level. Recently, WIL took another bold step by launching a new men-

torship program designed to expand senior leadership roles for women pursuing an executive career path in senior living. It’s an innovative new empowerment program called the Mentor Match Initiative. “The numbers don’t lie – while women make up the majority

of the frontlines caregivers in the senior living industry, very few are at the senior/executive leadership table. We are working to provide women who are interested in advancing the opportunity for growth and success. WIL is constantly exploring innovative new ways to engage and support women in senior living. And this new mentoring program is the latest example of how we are seeking to give women a clearer path to the top of senior living’s corporate ladder,” said Collette Gray, chairwoman of the Women in Leadership committee and president and CEO, Integral Senior Living and Solstice Senior Living.
