THE COLONNADE
A Rich Venue for Relaxing Entertainment The game room at The Colonnade doesn’t play around. With
a show-stopping billiards table as its centerpiece, the room is designed to appeal to a variety of interests: cards, standing shuffl eboard, backgammon, board games, and a big-screen TV. The lush Mediterranean stylings echo those of the existing campus, with a ceiling of dark wood paneling and white-painted cross beams. The accent wall is fi nished with a rich wood cov- ering; the billiards table and standing shuffl eboard both have a deep wood-grain fi nish; and the look is repeated on the indi- vidual game tables and chairs.
Resident-focused planning resulted in custom-built cabi- nets to neatly keep the cards, chips, chess pieces, and board games. Cabinets are topped with quartz counters with a marbled pattern. Attention to detail is a hallmark of the design. Card tables
have drink holders and drawers for cards. Spotlights showcase tasteful art pieces in the bookcase. A modern rug design and contemporary circular overhead light fi xture bring both warmth and a fun touch to the room. The game room’s location is also part of the plan: Set in a corner of the building, it encourages residents to explore and drop in.
