COME ON, FEEL THE NOISE
As leaders in the events field for a quarter of a century, the team at Skiddle were never going to celebrate their milestone quietly. They simply don’t do things by halves.
Their landmark night, an awards gala to thank and honour friends, clients and collaborators from across the United Kingdom, was the hottest ticket in town.
More than 500 industry hotshots gathered in Blackpool’s iconic Tower Ballroom for a high energy, showbiz- soaked party which rocked into the early hours.

sold-out events at the ‘correct price’ and the industry’s first refund policy.
Skiddle’s company values, first introduced back in 2016 – ‘Simplicity, Authenticity, Customer First and Challenging’ – lead its decisions and actions every step of the way.
Rich says: “We have tried always be at the cutting-edge. We put our customers first and we always have, from day one.”
That commitment to customer service includes ensuring a human touch when it comes to interaction. Queries and questions are answered by staff members, not AI.
Work continues to develop its industry- leading platform both for customers and event organisers alike. The focus is intense and pays off.
Rich says: “It is the people that make our business, we’ve got a fantastic team.

“It’s something that turned into a job and then a very strong business and a brand that we are all very proud of.
“We still enjoy what we are doing and there is still a lot of growth in our platform. We’re constantly looking ahead and at what that might hold for Skiddle. You can’t stand still.
“However, the anniversary has been a good opportunity to look back, take stock, and appreciate how far we’ve come, and this has also helped shape our strategy for the next decade.”
Looking forward, the business has ambitions to expand into new territories, working with new teams to bring exciting new experiences to those who love events.
Rich says: “We’re going to keep moving forward, adding new features, getting better.

They work hard to ensure customers and promoters are as happy as possible.
“When we started out, we were a couple of young lads who liked going out and saw that the industry needed to be better and interesting.
We’ve always invested in development and we will keep on doing that.
“The market continues to evolve and we will continue to explore new ways of promoting events and helping people find and enjoy new experiences. It’s what we do.”
And it really did have the X Factor, as voice of the long-running TV talent show Peter Dickson introduced a host of acts that entertained over dinner.
It was an eclectic mix!
Hacker T Dog, the CBBC favourite, made his DJ-ing debut as sidekick to BBC Radio One drive-time host Katie Thistleton.
Monka brought his multi-sensory drum, rhythm and lights spectacular to the stage, a winning contrast to the house hits heard from the Ballroom’s Wurlitzer as guests arrived.
And Max Fulham, comedy club and cabaret circuit fixture – also a sell- out hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe – brought his ‘grandad’ along for a quick-witted ventriloquist show.
Comedy legend Sir Lenny Henry was the headline act and presented the 20 awards across categories including ‘The One That Kept us Dancing’, ‘I lost My Voice In That Place’, ‘Get Up, Stand Out’ and ‘The One That Made The Family Smile’.
But enough is never enough for Skiddle and Gok Wan brought proceedings to a close as he took to the DJ decks for the after party.
Rich Dyer, who was joined on stage by co-founder Ben Sebborn, put it succinctly: “Thank you for the last 25 years, and here’s to many more.”
