Blackpool Grand Theatre has appointed experienced industry veteran Alistair Armit as the new chairman of its Arts and Entertainment Board.
The Holiday Inn Blackpool, set to open its doors in May, has filled its senior management board with Mark Winter as general manager, Laura Taylor as director of sales and marketing and Paul Powell as operations manager. David Cheung has been appointed financial controller, Katherine Gonzales-Moore as restaurant manager for Marco’s New York Italian and Phil Andrews as its head chef. More than 70 jobs have been filled in total so far.
Lancaster-based accountancy firm Scott & Wilkinson has appointed Tom Carter and Margaret Curran as tax managers.

MeetBlackpool, the town’s conference and exhibition arm, has launched its new ambassador network. The first ambassadors are Louise Beardmore, CEO of United Utilities; Nick Gerrard, growth and prosperity programme director at Blackpool Council; Spencer Phillips, chairman of Showtown Blackpool and executive committee member of the Royal Variety Charity; and Tony Doyle, head of ICT Services at Blackpool Council.
