service is a pillar of success that helps build trust in what we do.
“The customer service benchmark has been set and we look forward to the challenge of getting even better on service, and to supporting more customers on their net zero journey.”
It was Trident’s third attempt at winning a Red Rose category and Michael says of the win: “It’s deserved recognition for all our team members that work hard every day to provide the highest levels of customer service.
“The team are delighted. They know how challenging it is to win, having tried twice before, and they all feel that the award is recognition for the services that they provide.
“They are all talking about how proud they are to be a part of a business that gets recognition for the service levels we provide.
“Customers will have seen our social media coverage and I’m sure it increases their confidence that their energy costs, compliance and carbon management requirements are in safe hands.”
Michael says the award entry process provided an opportunity to reflect on the good and great things the business does. He adds: “It sparks ideas for the future, as inevitably the reflection highlights areas where we can improve or develop our product and service proposition.
“I will use the award to promote the business to a wider audience, especially in the Lancashire area.
“I have personally connected with at least one person from all the Red Rose Award winners and that’s the start of a business community that I want to be part of.
“There’s more to do as the next part of the journey is to connect with all the finalists and then explore how as a community we can benefit from the insights, industry news and updates that we share on social platforms.”
Trident pledged to plant a tree for every winner on the night, with the help of Ribble Rivers Trust. Planting 22 trees in total, the company has offset the carbon emissions for another 22 tonnes of CO2e. Together with our commitment to offset the carbon emissions for all the RRA travel, we’ve offset greater than 100,000 travel miles on behalf of all the winners finalists and guests attending the RRAs.
Michael adds: “I’ve sent a personal message congratulating every RRA winner, together with the certificate of the tree that we have planted on their behalf.”
Emily Hawarden Marketing manager
I feel incredibly proud of Team Trident. Winning the Customer Service award is a testament to the great people who work here and their commitment to doing the best for our customers. Everyone is thrilled to bits. It is one thing to know that you work for a great business, but when it is acknowledged and celebrated by those on the outside looking in, that is really something.

The award has really been celebrated within the business, and it means a lot to everyone involved. It’s recognition and acknowledgment of years of delivering customer excellence. We are 55 people all pulling in the same direction with a true sense of purpose.
Samantha Gray Account manager
I feel really proud to a part of this company and this award demonstrates that Trident are true to their commitments as being customer focused and valuing their clients. It has made me feel that we are all working together for the same goal and that gives us the motivation for greater achievements.
He also sees the publicity around the award and the continued activity that goes with it as tools, adding: “We will be able to use the success to grow scale.”
And he hopes it will help win more business. He says: “We have clients throughout the UK but we want to service clients in Lancashire and I feel that the recognition we have through winning the award will provide the platform for that to become a reality.
“We appreciate we’ll have to continue to work hard and keep promoting our brand to the
Lancashire business community.
“We’re growing and we have ambitious plans to double the size of the business over the next three-to-five years. We’re creating jobs and our growth plan will see us create around 20 roles in the next five years.
“We’re at the forefront of the energy transition and those roles will vary from apprenticeships to skilled carbon consultant positions. The future is exciting for Trident and our award-winning team.”
