Poor health is taking its toll – not just on Lancashire’s economy but on the lives of individuals across the county.

The need for health and wellbeing strategies in the workplace is more important than ever. Businesses that are successfully supporting their teams to be happy and healthy are reaping the rewards.

The message from the Lancashire Health and Wellbeing Conference 2024, organised by Lancashire Business View, was clear. Good physical, mental and financial health support will help boost productivity.

Delegates heard how those businesses embracing health and wellbeing strategies were proving more productive, were more attractive to prospective employees and were also seeing retention rates improve.

However, there is still a job to be done to spread that message. More than 50 per cent of workers in Lancashire have reported that stress, anxiety or depression was caused by or made worse by work. That has to change for the good of everyone.

As well as the Health and Wellbeing Conference, this issue of Lancashire Business View includes detailed coverage of our 2024

1,000 guests join in the celebrations.

This year 23 awards were handed out across the night, covering specific sectors, as well as recognising achievements such as customer service, community impact and – new for 2024 – the most impactful collaboration between two or more organisations.

It’s not easy to win a Red Rose Award. Entrants first passed a verification stage before putting their best case forward to a panel of independent judges.

Businesses that are successfully supporting their teams to be happy and healthy are reaping the rewards

Red Rose Awards – which once again proved a glorious celebration of the very best the county has to offer.

The well-deserved winners were revealed at a lavish black-tie celebration held at the Winter Gardens Blackpool. The biggest night in the Lancashire business calendar saw more than

Every year we are amazed by the stories of enterprise, innovation and downright hard work that we hear from those entrants.

Driving the Lancashire economy forward through uncertain times and providing work and opportunity for their communities, our Red Rose winners really are the best of the best.
