HOW TO. . . FIND THE RIGHT BUSINESS SUPPORT

TAP INTO LANCASHIRE’S BUSINESS GROWTH HUB

by Andrew Leeming Programme manager, Boost

Today’s ever-changing world presents businesses with new challenges as well as new opportunities.

Boost: Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, is ready to support growth- hungry businesses with both.

Boost is led by Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire LEP and we have supported more than 8,000 Lancashire businesses. We have helped to create more than 3,000 jobs while adding more than £100m to the economy since 2013.

The Growth Hub is funded by Lancashire County Council and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which means there is no cost to businesses for using Boost services.

We can help companies at every stage of their journey, including through our Growth Support Service.

This team of experts first meets with people in business to understand a company’s unique challenges and growth barriers.

They will then provide advice and direct business leaders to the most suitable support in Lancashire, whether that is a Boost programme or a programme run by one of Boost’s 60+ funded support partners in Lancashire.

Boost also operates three fully-funded growth programmes:

• Flying Start for pre-start and startup businesses and entrepreneurs, giving them to tools to make their new business succeed

• Growth Mentoring, providing an expert mentor to support the leaders and managers of established businesses

• Bespoke, a high-growth support service for established Lancashire businesses

Boost is ready to help you face the emerging economic challenges as your business grows and we have the experts to unlock your company’s true potential.

Here is an example of a success story from a business we have supported:

Rosetta Brands Nick Comer began Rosetta Brands in 2010 selling online fun gifts from the US to UK consumers. He recognised an opportunity to become an Amazon vendor, acting as a gateway to help other businesses sell on Amazon.

He received support from Boost’s Bespoke service to develop his idea and a sales and marketing strategy.

After launching the service, which includes optimising web pages and image content, Rosetta has grown from around £100,000 to £5m,
