Slingco designs, manufactures and supplies an extensive range of off-the-shelf and custom- designed cable grip and wire rope products. Supplying customers across more than 60 countries, the company once again earned the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2020 and in 2021 opened new 32,000 sq ft premises, retaining 77 jobs with plans to add a further 30.

BS Stainless supplies stainless steel products for a variety of industries including oil and gas, automotive, chemical and construction. The company exports to more than 50 countries and counts BP, Network Rail and Shell among its customers.

The family firm was founded in Preston in 1967 and has operated a subsidiary in France since 1985. Valdeco is the parent company of UGEPA in France, which manufactures wallpaper, and Murvia, which distributes it to UK retailers. Its ranges include Cath Kidston, Disney and Marvel. A boom in home interior upgrades during lockdown helped the group to increase turnover from £27.1m to £30.9m over the year.

Perch is a group of companies offering services related to debt collection. Perch Capital is a specialist debt purchaser, ACI is an FCA-regulated debt resolution agency, TM Legal Services litigates on behalf of clients to enforce debts and FieldConnect provides field agents who can carry out tasks such as document signing and property reports. To date, the group has acquired more than 160 portfolios with a total face value in excess of £500m across 600,000 customer accounts. Founded in 2018, the company was acquired earlier this year through a management buyout.
