Working with the local authority, the company also provided support for issues including mental health and food poverty to more than 4,000 Burnley residents last year. Ameon provides mechanical and electrical engineering services for construction projects in the public and private sectors. During 2020, the company hired apprentices who had been made redundant during the pandemic, then in 2021 announced its intention to create 100 new jobs. The company was rewarded with a strong rebound from a year mired by Covid-19 with total sales reaching £55.7m.

Hope Technology, Barnoldswick
Hope Technology designs and manufacturers bicycles and parts. The company’s sales bounced back from £15.6m to £20.6m thanks to a full 12 months of production, after its Barnoldswick facility had been forced to close due to Covid-19 restrictions during the previous accounting period. Also during the year, the company’s HB.T bike, developed in partnership with Lotus and British Cycling, was taken to the Olympics by Team GB and delivered seven medals, including three golds.
Hills buys, collects, dismantles and sells on motor salvage from insurance companies, recycling a minimum of 95 per cent of each vehicle. In the last year, the company opened a new 90,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre, taking its total warehousing footprint beyond 250,000 sq ft. Following the accounting year end, Hills grew further with the acquisition of a Scottish salvage merchant.
