Claire Shore Senior business development manager, Blackburn College

COLLABORATION IS KEY TO JOBS

SUCCESS If you are recruiting your next apprentice – possibly your first – it’s important to get it right. An apprentice is an investment for your business, and for your existing team members, who will be mentoring and supporting their new colleague.

At Blackburn College, we’re all about hassle-free recruitment, supporting you every step of the way, from initial enquiry to successful onboarding. Through collaboration, we are able to ensure that you find the right candidate, with work- ready skills and an ambition to develop their career with you.

So how does it work? Our team of Apprenticeship Recruitment Coordinators will spend time going through essential information about the role, aligning the job vacancy to suitable apprenticeship training. We will also help you set up your apprenticeship funding. If you are a large employer, you will already have an Apprenticeship Levy account. If you are a smaller business, we can help arrange full funding, via the Apprenticeship Levy Transfer, for training your apprentice.

In many cases, we have a talent pool of work-ready applicants who have already been assessed by us. We will also advertise your vacancy on our website, through our social media channels and can provide you with digital or physical advertising materials to help attract the best applicants.

When you have found your perfect applicant, our sector specialist assessors will meet with you and agree the apprentice training programme, mapping this to their skills and to the job role.

With your apprentice’s journey now underway, our commitment to you continues. As we transition to our expert assessor team, we remain your dedicated partner, offering ongoing advice and support whenever you need it. Stay connected and let us know how we can assist you.
