And we await more positive news on the Eden Project in Morecambe and all the benefits that is set to bring, not just for the town but for the whole county.


For those of a sporting disposition, work will continue to create Lancashire Cricket’s second home at Farington, with the aim of seeing its first innings played at the ground at the start of the 2026 season, in front of up to 5,000 spectators.


And towns and cities across Lancashire will see the benefits of regeneration projects that are being delivered, including the Animate cinema and leisure scheme in Preston which is due to open this spring.


Nearer to home, as we mark our 20th milestone there is double reason for celebration.


This year our Red Rose Awards marks 15 years of honouring business excellence across the county. Over those years it has grown to be one of the standout dates in the county’s calendar.


It has been some journey so far, and we’re proud to be both the independent voice of Lancashire businesses and the premier medium for business news and information in the county.


As we start the new year and Lancashire Business View reaches its 20-years of publishing milestone it seems a perfect time for reflection.


While much has changed over those two decades so many things remain the same. Not least our business community’s resilience and determination to ‘push on’.


They, and we, have weathered so many storms and shockwaves. Financial crises, Brexit, the pandemic, the impact of war. It’s a scary list.


But through all the turmoil Lancashire’s businesses, and the talented and determined people in them, have gone on delivering for an economy that is the second largest in the North West.


Uncertainty has become the new norm and as we start 2025 with the national picture mixed, to say the least, we have no doubt it will once again be a challenging year.
