THE MAGAZINE FOR THE DRAINAGE,WATER &WASTEWATER INDUSTRIES

PRODUCT NEWS

to a newlinermatrix and it is quick to mobilise and deploy given its light- weight and highmaterial strength. The systemalso has a field tested and proven connectionmaking it a highly reliable, durable and at the same time cost- effective solution for temporarywater supply. Not only is the systemavailable forwater supply and sewerage removal but it also offers the capacity to transport some hazardousmaterials such aswater/oil mixes and otherwastewater products for relatively short time periodswhen necessary as thematerials used have been proven to be chemical and abrasion resistant in its time as a liner material. The use of Kevlar® as one of the material components also adds to the structural integrity of the pipe. The outer layer of the Primus LineOverland Piping liner is alsomade ofTPU(thermoplastic polyurethane),making it not onlymore resistant to chemicals and abrasion, but alsomore flexible. Furthermore, the black outer colour eliminatesUV degradation, prolonging the effective life expectancy of the pipe.

AVAILABILITY

TheOverland Piping Systems is currently available fromDN150 toDN300with

operating pressures of 43 bar for aDN150 pipe and 19 bar for aDN300 pipe respectively. The operating pressureswere determined following API 15s standardwith a design life of 20 years. After rigorous testing as well as field trials performed over a period of severalmonths at ambient temperatures as lowas -32 degreesCelsius, theAlberta Energy Regulator in BritishColombia,Canada approved theOverland Piping Systemfor use by the hydraulic fracturing industry. Since the development and approval of the systeminCanada the Overland Piping Systems has also found application in areas such as themunicipal sectorwhere over-pumping of seweragemight be needed and in themining industrywhich also often requires significant amounts ofwater for its processes. Commenting on the newOverland Piping SystemAndreasGross,Head of International BusinessDevelopment for Primus Line said:“Our reputation for our Primus Line systemhas beenwell-established for some years now. For our development teamto put that expertise into practice to bring this newOverland Piping Systemto themarket in such a relatively short time-frame is extraordinary and at an overall cost thatmeets, if not beats, that thatwould be expected for amore traditional by-pass pipe system. We can nowoffer not only the materials and support to our clients for lining and rehabilitation of pipe networks butwe can also ensure that anyone requiring over-pumping arrangements can be sure their systemis as safe as it can be for the protection of theworkforce, the nearby residents and commercial concerns andmost importantly the environment.”
