A standout deal was with Barclays US, in 2011, which opted

for Profile in December to cater for online retail and consumer deposits on a hosted basis. Andrew Harris, director of deposit products at Barclays US, said that there was an extensive list of requirements which the bank was looking to meet during the selection process. ‘What we were looking for was not just something we needed here, a pretty simple go to market deposit offering, but to make sure it could be expansive, and if Barclays wanted to do more with it as a group, whether it be Barclays Wealth or whether that be a more expansive retail proposition, that the product we chose could accommodate that.’

Among those assessed were Infosys, Fiserv, Jack Henry

and Temenos. However, FIS with Profile quickly emerged as the leading supplier in fulfilling these requirements. ‘From pretty early on it was clear that FIS could satisfy a lot of what we wanted.’ Harris said. ‘The size and presence of FIS as a global leader fits with the type of supplier we want to work with because of the level of continual investment it will make in its business.’ The UK retail side of Barclays also used the

Advanced Lending Solution (ALS) package from FIS for its consumer loans offering, a relationship which Harris said eased certain elements of the project. As for Profile itself, Harris spoke highly of the functionality

it had to offer, especially the level of customisation available on the system. Barclays US was also impressed with the Profile reference projects FIS had demonstrated. The roll-out was completed by the end of May 2012. There have continued to be Profile wins around the globe

(Russia, UK, ING in the Netherlands, which was previously a major taker for its ING Direct initiative, Pakistan, India and elsewhere). In May 2017, the newly launched North East Small Finance Bank (NESFB) chose FIS’ Profile core banking system for its banking and payments platform. The platform will be leveraged at 164 branches across eight Indian states in northeast India, that is planned for launch by the end of the year. NESFB also plans to on-board 500,000 clients during this period.
