Ask about home remedies and assess if they may be interfering with food and nutrition goals. Ask patients and clients to repeat back what you have shared. Provide written materials in their predominant language (Spanish).
Do not assume that patients and clients are literate, even in their native language. Make adjustments by utilizing more pictures and less words as needed.
Explain the reasons for follow-up nutritional care, and provide resources available in their community for additional food and nutrition assistance.
