Popular foods include beans, stews, and meats. Mojo is a common flavoring used with root vegetables; it combines olive oil, lemon juice, onions, garlic, and cumin. Fried plantains, black beans, and rice are eaten daily. The most common meats eaten are chicken and pork, either fried or grilled (21).
