The Irish Rock ’n’ Roll Museum Experience DUBLIN, IRELAND
A labyrinth of cobblestoned streets, galleries and lively pubs, Dublin has long been recognised as a hub for Irish music. Most celebrated of its rock landmarks is the legendary Temple Bar, which houses the Temple Lane Rehearsal Studios, the Apollo recording studio and two live music venues: Button Factory and the Crowbar Terrace. This makes Temple Bar the perfect setting for
the Irish Rock’n’Roll Museum Experience, which celebrates the country’s rock icons. Guided tours take visitors through the complex where Irish artists such as Sinéad O’Connor, Hozier, Fontaines DC and The Cranberries — to name but a few — have practised their art over the years. One room is dedicated to the Dublin-formed U2,
who used the rehearsal space when they were up-and-coming sensations on the Irish music scene. These experiences provide a rare glimpse into the creative processes behind classic songs. After the U2 room is a bespoke cinema in which
a short film showcases many of the great musical icons from the Emerald Isle. And melomaniacs have a unique opportunity to rock out in one of
Temple Lane’s rehearsal rooms, where artists such as Van Morrison and Snow Patrol honed their craft. The Jam Room invites guests to unleash their inner rock star, surrounded by echoes of some of Ireland’s greatest musical talents. Visitors can also explore a selection of
memorabilia, including instruments, stage costumes and personal items. Fans of Thin Lizzy and Rory Gallagher will be thrilled to see some of their personal belongings, offering a closer look at the personalities behind the music. The museum confirms the role of Irish musicians
in shaping global rock history. The exhibits highlight famous acts such as U2 but also delve into the underground scene that helped cultivate talent over the decades. The museum and its passionate guides weave a narrative that shines a light on Ireland’s enduring impact on the music world, from early pioneers to contemporary stars. For any music fan visiting Dublin, the Irish
Rock ’n’ Roll Museum Experience is an essential destination to celebrate and explore the city’s deep- rooted connection to the soundtrack of our times.
