Serengeti Safari Camp SERENGETI, TANZANIA
Nomad Tanzania’s Serengeti Safari Camp is designed to give guests a front-row seat to the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle: the wildebeest migration. This mobile ‘home away from home’ moves with the seasons, thanks to its dedicated team, allowing guests to follow the migration year-round. For over 25 years, Nomad has followed the
incredible journey of the wildebeest migration as they search for greener pastures. This unique safari experience includes all the classic comforts, ensuring travellers enjoy both the thrill of witnessing the vast super-herd of over 1.5 million wildebeest and the convenience of modern amenities. Serengeti Safari Camp is open all year, moving
with the migration to stay close to the action. Shifting three times a year across the Serengeti, this tented camp offers an unparalleled safari experience, capturing the true essence of safari. In December, the camp moves to the southern
edge of the Serengeti and the Ndutu plains, ready for the arrival of the herds. During this warm, sunny period, the herds settle here, and it becomes the birthplace for half a million wildebeest during
calving season in late January and into February. The herds remain on these nutrient-rich grasses until the plains begin to dry out, marking the start of their journey north. By July, the herds have journeyed north to the
Kogatende area, near the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, so Nomad’s Serengeti Safari Camp sets up camp just a short distance from the Mara River. Here, the herds make daring river crossings, facing strong currents and crocodiles. These crossings occur throughout the season as the herds follow rain clouds, moving in pursuit of fresh grazing lands. Northern Tanzania has long been a favourite
of Nomad. With camps tucked away in hidden corners of the parks, it offers a unique experience and expert guides to immerse you in the magic of the wilderness. In the south, pair Serengeti Safari Camp with Entamanu, a rugged camp that redefines the Ngorongoro Crater experience from the edge of the crater rim. Then, head north to spend a few nights at the award-winning Lamai, the perfect contrast to Nomad’s mobile migration camp and an ideal spot for leopard sightings.
DON’T MISS Experience the awe-inspiring migration calving season in January and February, when 8,000 wildebeest calves are born every day
