Chobe House KASANE, BOTSWANA

Botswana is fast becoming Africa’s trendiest safari destination, due to the abundance of wildlife, accessibility and tourist safety. Kasane is Botswana’s gateway to the Chobe National Park, one of the country’s safari hotspots and a unique destination for numerous reasons. Firstly, tourists can safari by boat and by truck,

giving different perspectives of the animals at different times of the day. For example, elephants are well known to swim in the river in the late afternoon, and this is the perfect time to see them from a safari boat. Likewise, nothing beats a morning coffee stop after watching leopards and lions from the safari truck just after the sun rises. Other animals you can expect to see include wild dogs, giraffes, monkeys, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, cheetahs, antelopes and many birds. Secondly, Kasane is only a 90-minute flight

from Johannesburg, where most international tourists have to transit from to get to their safari destination. The main lodges, such as Chobe House, are located along the river in Kasane, a mere 10-minute drive from the airport. The ability to

avoid long drives through rural Africa is something that appeals to many tourists. Finally, there are a large range of extra activities

besides safari available from Kasane, such as visiting Victoria Falls, spending the night on a house boat, dining at different restaurants, camping in the National Park or even fishing for the famed tiger fish, to name but a few. Chobe House was designed to enable tourists to

experience this landscape in the most authentic way possible, while also challenging the over- commercialisation of traditional safari lodges found throughout Africa. It was built for those who want more than a surface-level experience in a place that has so much to offer. Set in the heart of Kasane, on the Chobe River,

Chobe House is an exclusive boutique lodge of nine rooms available to one group at a time, combining the independence and privacy of an AirBnB with the trained staff of a five-star lodge. Guests have access to safari vehicles, as well as professional guides. In-house chefs offer a locally inspired menu and there’s also a fully equipped gym.
