The Lindt Home of Chocolate KILCHBERG, SWITZERLAND

Seamlessly combining education, innovation and indulgence, the Lindt Home of Chocolate opened in Kilchberg, Switzerland, in 2020. The site — which features an interactive exhibition, the Lindt Café and the world’s largest Lindt Shop and the Lindt Chocolateria — has quickly become a must-visit destination for chocolate enthusiasts of all ages. At the entrance is the world’s tallest free-

standing chocolate fountain, which stands more than nine metres tall. The gravity-defying structure holds 1,400kg of real chocolate, creating a spectacular starting point for the experience. Visitors then embark on a journey through time

in the interactive exhibition, which traces the origins of chocolate from ancient Mesoamerican civilisations to its arrival in Europe. This comprehensive, historic overview is

elevated by interactive elements that showcase the process of chocolate production, from cultivating cocoa beans to mastering the art of tempering. Engaging narratives, tactile experiences and multimedia presentations make the tour accessible for all types of learners.

For those wishing to extend their chocolate

adventure, the Lindt Chocolateria offers a hands-on experience. Under the guidance of Lindt Maîtres Chocolatiers, visitors can allow their creativity to flourish and conjure their own masterpieces — be they chocolate bars, Lindt teddies or even champagne truffles. As a finale to the visit, Switzerland’s first Lindt

Café awaits, with a range of sweet and savoury delights. And the world’s largest Lindt store offers a wide selection of souvenirs, perfect for both memories and gifts. Architecture enthusiasts will also appreciate the

Lindt Home of Chocolate. Designed by renowned Basel architects Christ & Gantenbein, the building’s modern appearance contrasts with the historic Lindt & Sprüngli factory, built in 1899. Inside, circular staircases, bridge walkways and impressive skylights contribute to the building’s elegant appeal. Open 360 days a year, the Lindt Home of

Chocolate is located less than 20 minutes from central Zurich and is easily accessible by car, bus, train or ferry.
