Why is it so important to keep up exercise during and after pregnancy? Steph: Exercise gives you that sense of normality, and has huge physical and mental benefi ts during a time when your body is changing drastically. During pregnancy, it’s really important to stay strong, but not overdo it. Tough abdominal exercises can cause diastasis recti (a ridge protruding from your midline), for example, so make sure
