Christmas crafting workshops will take place during November and December at National Trust properties in the north west. Sizergh, Cumbria, will hold a Christmas cake decorating workshop on selected dates in December, and Speke Hall, Merseyside, will host Christmas decorating

A major exhibition that will showcase China’s Terracotta Warriors will be staged at Liverpool’s World Museum (February-October 2018). It will be the first time in more than 30 years that the treasures from the tomb of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, will be brought to a museum in the UK outside London.

Terracotta Warriors will be displayed alongside important artefacts and research relating to the formative years of the Chinese nation, from the pre- unification Qin Kings (307 to 221BC) to the First Emperor’s legacy in the Han Dynasty (206BC to 220AD). David Fleming, director of National Museums Liverpool, said: “An exhibition of this scale is sure to attract visitors from all over the UK and Europe, with an unmissable opportunity to see artefacts of great historical importance in the flesh.

Line-up unveiled for 10th Liverpool Biennial
Liverpool Biennial, the largest festival of contemporary art in the UK, has announced the first list of international artists selected for its 10th edition in 2018 (July 14-October 28). Called Beautiful world,
where are you?, the biennial will feature free exhibitions and events, including venues such as Bluecoat, FACT, Open Eye Gallery, Tate Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University’s Exhibition Research Lab, National Museums Liverpool, RIBA North, the Liverpool Playhouse, Victoria Gallery & Museum (University of Liverpool), and Blackburne House.
