Anantara opens its first hotel in Spain
Anantara Hotels has opened its first luxury property in Spain. The Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort has 132 rooms and suites, plus one and two-bedroom villas with butler service and private pools. It has private beach access, tennis courts and a kids’ club. Rates start at €215 in a deluxe double for two on a B&B basis.

Self-catering specialist Pierre & Vacances is adding 26 properties to its portfolio this year. Te French operator’s
expansion is focused on its high- end offerings. Te five-star L’Hévana in
Méribel in the French Alps is to open on December 13 and is on sale now. Located in the town centre and close to the ski slopes, it will have 95 apartments with two to four rooms. SUNWING REVAMP: Thomas Cook’s Sunwing Arguineguin in Gran Canaria has reopened after a multimillion-euro upgrade. The 252-room family hotel was Cook’s first own- brand property and was closed for two months for the third stage of a four-year revamp, due to be completed in 2020. The €13 million revamp included refurbishment of most rooms, bars and restaurants, and “significant investment” in sustainable technology. Thomas Cook, currently undergoing a proposed £750 million recapitalisation backed by Chinese conglomerate Fosun, is spending €40 million on its own-brand hotels in Spain this year and in 2020.

Thailand’s Sarojin hotel adds ‘Adventuremoon’

include Residence Adama Resort Marrakech, in Morocco, priced from £483 per one-bedroom villa; Residence Iloha Seaview on the French Indian Ocean island of Réunion, which offers studios from £941; and Spa Hotel Adriana Hvar in Croatia, which is spread over six floors and features a pool, restaurant and cocktail bar, and offers double rooms from £747.

The Sarojin in Khao Lak, Thailand, has launched a six-night ‘Adventuremoon’ package for newlyweds including a private dinner under a waterfall, whitewater rafting, trekking and river canoeing, and a blessing from Buddhist monks. It is priced from £2,934 and includes accommodation in the hotel’s Garden Residence, private transfers from Phuket airport and an all-day à la carte breakfast.

Jet2holidays expands Indulgent Escapes
Jet2holidays has new hotels in its Indulgent Escapes range of five-star properties. They include Hotel Don Pepe, in Marbella; Regent Porto Montenegro; and The Lake Spa Resort in Portugal. In Crete, the operator has added two properties, one in Chania and one in Heraklion.
