flooring exhibition scene in Asia and served as a welcome confidence booster for the wider expo market as the first of its kind globally

SHANGHAI LEADS THE WAY


Asia’s Hub for Flooring, DOMOTEX asia CHINAFLOOR, opened its doors to over 1,000 exhibitors and around 67,918 on- site visitors in Shanghai in March. The three-day show, from March 24-26, was the event’s 23rd edition and reignited


international fl ooring scene, but rather a point of reference for fl ooring professionals looking to do business, not only in Asia itself, but throughout the entire world. This year saw the return of the events and conference formats


for which it has become known alongside new and innovative ones that were warmly received by the industry, something that was clearly demostrated by a combination of the sheer numbers involved, the level and quality of the interactions and the type and standard of the exhibits on off er.


HERE ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS: With its theme centered on “Cultivating new Forms of Business – Enabling New Growth”, the World Flooring Forum, in association with the China Forestry Association,


confi dence that live trade fairs remain the most preferable platform and that the fl ooring industry in particular is, once again, ready and eager to do business. The exhibition space was spread over


128,000 square metres of gross space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It also marked a signifi cant point in the event calendar as the fi rst trade show to represent the industry this year on a global scale. In its 23 years, it has not only become an annual event of the


welcomed 23 renowned experts and outstanding entrepreneurs as speakers. Their presentations were delivered to more than 400 industry elites representing more than 200 companies in China. Through online video streaming, Mr Craig Dupra, Chairman of the National Wood Flooring Association in the US, presented the current status of the Wood Flooring Industry in North America, with a focus on distributor channels. Ms Tanja Kernt, Editor in Chief of BNP Publications, on the other hand, presented a more global approach on fi gures of the wood fl ooring industry, complementing Mr Dupra’s presentation and off ering the WFF audience with an updated overview.
