Fischer. “With the report, we now make a public commitment and join the ranks of people proactively engaging with sustainability and inspiring others to do the same.” Helping customers in key industries achieve more with less is an

integral part of its value proposition, technologies and operations. Based on the materiality analysis, Oerlikon has selected eight of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals where a company can make the most diff erence for its stakeholders. Environmental, social and governance targets for 2030 have been set by the Group in areas that align most closely with its operations, policies and capabilities. These targets, for example using only energy from renewable sources and increasing the number of women in leadership roles, have been selected with care and consideration. “Setting ambitious targets, such as achieving climate neutrality in our operations by 2030, clearly underlines our commitment,” added Dr Fischer. “We also intend to have 100 per cent of our R&D investment in new products to cover the ESG criteria.”

Premium brand Balterio has just released its new Traditions range, one it describes as unique in laminate fl ooring. Its HydroShield protection technology and proven click system stops water seeping into the joints, making it suitable for every space in the home, from living areas and bedrooms to kitchens and bathrooms. The selling point of the range is not only its versatility. It’s practical. It off ers all the benefi ts and beauty of real wood, but without the compromises of additional maintenance, cost and diffi culty of fi tting. It also has a ‘true to nature’ touch, meaning the

structure follows the design. Embossing accentuates the natural wood grains and knots with variations in depth and gloss on multiple levels to provide a convincing illusion of real wood. The company says the collection will consist of a minimum of 20 planks with 15 colour variations, each boasting its very own uinique wood pattern.
