Programmable screwdriver consolidates assembly tools
Do you have a variable assembly process using torque controlled electric screwdrivers? Or do you assemble by hand? If so, the Delvo current controlled screwdriver can consolidate the number of drivers in use or simply automate the process and increase productivity. Available from Nitto Kohki Europe, the programmable screwdriver boasts 30 channels, each of which can be set to suit a specific fastening operation. It has a torque range of 0.6 to 4.5Nm and can be used manually or on robotic automated systems via a simple cable connection. The screwdriver comes in both lever and push to start options, is ESD- compliant and has a seven- colour LED indication at its base for fastening verification and channel identification. There are nine programmable speed levels, automatic three-step speed control, screw count function and the fastening time can be selected. A free software package makes programming and torque verification quick and simple, with all the

Software delivers simulation on the fly
Engineers can rapidly run simulation scenarios for stress, fluids, and thermal analysis using Ansys Discovery. The software, presented by Origin Engineering Solutions, runs a computer’s GPU (graphics card) allowing simulation on the fly without the delay. Designers can therefore simulate products whilst they are designing them to save time, understand their products better and can even be used as a sales tool to demonstrate benefits visually. The SpaceClaim engine
allows rapid modification of geometry based on simulation results. The company will also be showcasing Ansys SpaceClaim, a direct modeler which allows the user to import/export any file type and modify geometry. It can be used for quick concept design, designing jigs / fixtures, reverse engineering, sheet metal and preparing files for 3D printing. Visitors to the stand will be entered into a
competition to win a Fitbit watch and Amazon vouchers.
