As demand far outweighs supply, parts are more expensive, so plan far ahead to assess how many products are needed, advises the company. Also, sense- check if the product will still

Li-SOCl2 cells provide long-term energy boost
There are 20 lithium thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) cells, in both bobbin and wafer construction, with multiple mounting configurations, in the Jauch Quartz UK & Ireland range. They complement the company’s range of primary, secondary, and customised battery solutions. Managing director, Nicholas Ribton, elaborates: “For modern electronic devices, lithium thionyl chloride is a secure energy source with high cell voltage and energy density for maximum reliability in extreme temperature conditions”. They are typically used in
automated meter reading, sub- and advanced metering infrastructures, residential/commercial/industrial smart meters and remote monitoring. “Our cells are extremely competitively priced and carry the same high quality, local technical support, and EMEA stockholding as our existing battery and frequency ranges,” adds Ribton. At 3.6V, the cell voltage is “significantly higher” than that of other primary battery types. The voltage level is kept constant throughout almost the entire discharge period of the battery. The Li-SOCl2 cell’s energy density is up to 710Wh/kg, making it suitable for applications with low power requirements over long time periods, such as metering. The extremely low self-discharge rate (just 1% per year) means the batteries can be stored over a longer period. The batteries comply with the European REACH regulation, IEC60086-4, and are certified to UL1642.

New UK facility has calibration lab for torque tools
Operating in Silicon Valley since 1965, torque tool manufacturer, Mountz Torque has recently
opened a UK facility in Hampshire. It provides sales, service and technical support to partners and customers around the world. There has also been the recent addition of a calibration laboratory.
Fastening products will be on display, including the popular pre-set hand torque screwdrivers, for all fastening applications that require consistent precision and high level quality control.
