RFI / EMI ventilation protects electronic enclosures


Most electronic enclosures need some form of air ventilation to keep the electronics within cool. If this is a RFI / EMI shielded enclosure then the overall shielding effectiveness of the enclosure can be compromised, advises Kemtron. For many commercial applications perforated sheet, metal or metallised plastic will suffice but for high performance requirements waveguides provide superior shielding over a wide frequency range. Waveguides can be circular,


rectangular or honeycomb-shaped. The honeycomb vent is series of tubes that acts as a waveguide, guiding electromagnetic waves into or out of the enclosure, but the tubes are long enough to attenuate those waves. Typically the tube should be at least three times as long as the diameter; good practice is four times. For example, a 3.18mm cell should be 12.7mm long. The most cost-effective version is

Visitors can see updated ranges of compact, energy-saving, miniature DC fans and blowers aimed at a wide variety of medical, industrial and process control, pressure, or suction / vacuum applications. The latest product introductions


are tailored to the engineering needs of two of the biggest challenges for 2022: the disruption and aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and the climate and energy emergency. High pressure medical blowers and turbine products are suited to a variety of critical Covid-19-related applications, such as breathing therapy, ventilators, respirators, personal protection, ICU hospital beds, air purification, disinfection, air sampling,


laboratory, diagnostic and test equipment. All of these require some form of air movement with significant pressure or suction (vacuum) to force air through tubes or chambers or overcome system / filter resistance. The company‘s industrial blowers can be considered energy and space saving alternatives to bulky side-channel blowers and compressed air sources. The 24V DC brushless DC (BLDC) motors use a fraction of the power of larger side channel blowers, than typically use over 2kW, and have much lower running costs when compared to costly compressed air systems. LCDs are traditionally offered as one colour text, or graphic, on a single colour background. These displays give the user more freedom with how the display will look in the application, as the backlight on these displays are full-colour RGB. The ability to choose any single colour as the backlight also gives the user the option to use the display to suggest status within an application, such as hot or cold. There will be demos on display and the team is looking forward to helping customers with their designs using existing, and new, display technology.

Three new technologies, namely saturated absorption fabrication (SAF), stereolithography (SLA) and P3 polymerisation, will be demonstrated by Laser Lines. The company is a platinum partner of 3D printer manufacturer, Stratasys, with the Origin One 3D printer. Examples of all these technologies in addition to live demonstrations will be available at the stand. DyeMansion post processing technology will also be highlighted. The company was founded in 1975 and supplies lasers and accessories, Stratasys 3D printers and additive manufacturing systems. Highlights include Synrad CO2 lasers in the range of 10 to 400W, Datalogic laser markers, DPSS, fibre and CO2 laser technologies for integration and the company’s range of standard and bespoke laser marking, high power diode sources and pulsed YAG welding and cutting systems. It also supplies beam delivery including conventional process heads and galvanometer scanning systems.
