FRIDAY 22ND & 23RD OCTOBER: Tasters & Sampling

THE COMMUNITY CAFÉ, MARKET SQUARE Sponsored by: The Coastal Kitchen, Devon

It’s not all about the professionals at the Dartmouth Food Festival, and this year we are looking for amateur cooks and bakers of all ages to show us the best of their home cooking. There are 2 categories to enter:

Friday 22nd October: Sausage roll : savoury or sweet, meat or vegetarian, flaky or shortcrust pastry, the choice is yours.

Saturday 23rd October: Children’s decorated cupcakes: a set of 4 cupcakes as colourful and wacky as you like.

What the judges will be looking for: Flavour is absolutely our number one criteria, but we will also be looking at aroma, overall appearance, originality, consistency and texture.

How to enter? Bring your sausage roll (cold) to the Community Café, Market Square between 12.30 and 14.00 on Friday October 22nd.

Bring your decorated cupcakes to the Community Café, Market Square between 12.30 and 14.00 on Saturday October 23rd.

Products should be in a covered container labelled with your name, age (for the cupcake category), mobile/home phone number, and provide a list of ingredients. Do feel free to add a few sentences about your entry if you wish.

The winners will be announced by 16.00, and you are free to collect your entry at any time between 16.00 and 16.30.

There will be a delicious ‘foodie’ hamper for the winner of each category.
