THE 2022 CLASSIC CHANNEL REGATTA
he international Classic Channel Regatta will be back in Dartmouth from July 9th to 12th after a break of three years owing to the pandemic which forced the cancellation of the regatta last year. This week-long regatta which has
always started in Dartmouth and has been running biennially since 2005 is now in its ninth edition. After two days of racing in Start Bay, the start of the Classic Channel Race off Dartmouth will take the fleet of classic yachts across to Paimpol in Brittany where there are

festivities in the town before the regatta finishes with a race around the Île de Bréhat off Paimpol. Around eighty classic yachts will be in Dartmouth for the regatta,
mostly from Britain with a fair number coming across from France. The regatta normally attracts a few boats from Belgium, Holland and Germany and further afield, but the post pandemic uncertainties seem to have discouraged them travelling so far this year. The boats will be arriving in the Dart on or before July 9th
ready
for registration and a welcome reception at the Royal Dart Yacht Club in the evening of the 9th
. The
RDYC is again hosting the regatta and Premier Noss on Dart Marina are sponsoring the welcome drinks. There will be a Parade of Sail of all the fleet in the river on the morning of Sunday 10th
at 10.30am Parade of sail Dartmouth. Spinnakers Make Way on Cervantes I
before they go out into Start Bay for the first day of racing - this will best be viewed from the Dartmouth Embankment.
