BUSINESS TRAVEL AWARDS 2018 THE WINNERS

Best Long-Haul Airline LUFTHANSA

As part of Europe’s leading airline group, Lufthansa enjoys an outstanding reputation for offering the highest quality products. Operating through hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, alongside the hubs of the other Lufthansa Group airlines in Vienna, Zurich and Brussels, the airlines serve more than 300 destinations in over 100 countries on four continents.

After overcoming problems in the previous year, the judges thought Lufthansa had made a significant effort in supporting corporate customers, with a focus on account management and investment.

Finalists: American Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines

Business Airline of the Year ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS (ANA)

ANA is the largest airline in Japan by revenue and passenger numbers. The ANA Group has a fleet of 250 aircraft and is the world’s biggest Boeing 787 Dreamliner operator. The airline’s frequent flyer programme has more than 26 million members. The Star Alliance member also runs joint ventures with United, Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines.

The judges thought ANA offered a five-star service for the corporate traveller, backed by strong growth and new routes. It also runs a truly impressive CSR programme. The judges determined that ANA had submitted a faultless entry.

Finalists: Easyjet, Etihad Airways, Flybe, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic

This was a closely fought category with little to separate the shortlisted contenders. The judges felt that TRIPBAM’s ability to drive savings gave it the edge. A genuinely useful service that deserves to do well.
