Vitra to open flagship showroom in Clerkenwell

VITRA IS to open a two-floor 5,600sq ft showroom in Clerkenwell in spring 2020. The space is said to be more than just a showroom and is intended to act as a ‘creative hub’ where designers and architects can get together. There will be dedicated areas for product specification displays, events and workshops.


Vitra London will host exhibitions, events and

talks for the

architects, designers and specifiers community as well as the wider bathroom industry. Levent Giray, managing director of Vitra UK, said: “Vitra London marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our business, enabling us to engage more effectively with our national and international client base. Our aim is for Vitra London to become a cornerstone of the architecture and design community – a place for clients to meet, work and socialise, as well as simplifying the bathroom specification process for them.

“Vitra London is a symbol of our global reach and will act as a springboard for further growth worldwide. Turnmill Building on Clerkenwell Road – the hub of London’s architect and design district. The company already has showrooms in Istanbul, Cologne, Mumbai and Moscow. The ground floor will be the main space for hosting events. There will be designer bathroom ranges on display, including those created by designers Ross Lovegrove, Sebastian Conran, Terri Pecora, and most recently, Claudio Bellini and Arik Levy. There will also be a working brassware display. The lower ground floor will have a dedicated specification area with displays of WCs, basins, tiles, and accessories. It will also have an immersive 4D theatre where visitors can use VR headsets.

F Jones Cleveland appoints new MD

LuxurY Work surface supplier F Jones Cleveland has appointed Craig Fyall (pictured) as its new managing director.

The appointment is part of a restructuring of the

senior management team and the company’s strategy for growth and expansion in the kitchen, bathroom and contract markets.

Fyall – who joined the company as sales director in April 2018 – will work closely with Ian Jones, who moves from the post of managing director to company chairman. Founder Fred Jones is stepping down from the role as chairman, but will continue as

the director responsible for the financial oversight of the group. Speaking of his appointment, Fyall said: “F Jones is about to embark on a significant growth and investment strategy that will mark an exciting new chapter in the company’s 35-year heritage of providing luxury work surfaces. I am proud to have been given this responsibility and look forward to the opportunities ahead. We will be diversifying the company’s product and service offer across the kitchen, bathroom and contract sectors, ensuring our customer base grows and benefits from what we have to offer.”

Ian Jones, chairman of F Jones, added: “As a family-owned concern, we have been delighted with the way Craig has integrated into the business and applied his expertise and market experience. His promotion to managing director is important to our growth plans going forward and I will be working closely with him on implementing our business strategy. I will retain responsibility for the governance of the company and specifically nurture the long-standing product partnerships we have with Antolini and Cosentino.”

F Jones was founded in 1984 by Fred Jones. It manufactures luxury natural stone work surfaces from Italian brand, Antolini and is also a premium partner for Cosentino. The company employs 54 people and has a turnover of £8 million.
