1909 Ovolo in Silver Grey, Dove Grey & Slate

It helps retailers meet the expectations of a high-end brand, while saving time and removing complexity. Since its launch in 2013, 1909 has grown into an established in-frame brand in the independent sector, offering three door styles and a breadth of design options. The new offer translates 1909’s current extensive range of 18,000 components

An easier fit for retailers T

Danesmoor Group, the parent company of PWS Distributors, has launched the premium brand 1909 kitchens in a new complete format

he move follows extensive development on the back of customer feedback and offers flexibility in the planning and ordering of 1909.

an easy-to-plan complete

catalogue with three simple price bands. 1909 Complete encompasses fully assembled units with pre-installed internals, bespoke work surfaces, and dedicated handle collection, all fulfilled with an optional on-site delivery service. PWS Distributors will continue to supply 1909 kitchens in component format, if required. “We designed 1909 as a superior quality, British, classic kitchen collection, with all the characteristics of a ‘hand built’ kitchen at a commercially attractive price point for the retailer,” explains Paul Dorrington, national sales manager. “Our focus has been on taking an already proven and successful kitchen collection and making it much simpler for our trade customers to work with. At their request, we have developed a fully complete option, supported by the most comprehensive, yet straightforward sales and technical manual, and compatibility with all the major KBB design and quotation packages.”

The new catalogue includes iconic feature pieces synonymous with 1909, as well as a host of feature accessories, supported by a bespoke door-sizing service

to help customers create a truly tailored design. “We are actively recruiting kitchen retailers to join the 1909 partner programme,” continues Dorrington. “We provide national and local marketing designed to generate sales leads and encourage consumers to visit specialist 1909 studios and experience the brand in-store.” Steve Callandine, owner of Abbeywood Interiors in Durham, is a long-term 1909 advocate and embraces the new Complete initiative and partner programme as the first solus retailer. “1909 has always been a popular brand with our clients, as it’s both high-end and accessible. The new Complete programme works very well for us, as it gives us end-to-end support, from marketing, to providing complete, fully-prepped kitchens to site, ready for installation.” Mark Stephenson, chief executive of the Danesmoor Group, explains that the 1909 Complete option addresses a particular need for a specific product range. “Because 1909 is more technically sophisticated as a product, it can therefore be quite complex to work with, so we have responded to this by offering it ‘dressed’ and on a cabinet. Our customers love the quality, style and flexibility of 1909, all of which have made it an incredibly popular consumer choice. It’s an even more attractive proposition, as ultimately, it’s much easier for retailers to sell.”

• The Danesmoor Group comprises a number of KBB-centric businesses, including PWS Distributors, Life Kitchens and the Danesmoor Agency – delivering a market- leading product and service portfolio to the trade, underpinned by nationally renowned consumer brands.
