Professional Registration Professional registration provides independent recognition of an individual’s knowledge, competence, and commitment to the profession. As a licensed member of the Engineering Council, IHEEM supports applications for registration as Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated
Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng). Authorising Engineers As the certification body for the NHS England Authorising Engineer Certification Scheme and Register, an independent assessment process is conducted by IHEEM to aid the certification of experienced professionals. Authorising Engineer status is recognised as a benchmark of technical competence, professional experience, and informed judgement within specialist healthcare engineering disciplines. Certification provides assurance to employers, NHS organisations, and the wider healthcare sector that individuals have met nationally recognised standards of competence, while supporting compliance with NHS England requirements relating to the appointment and assurance of Authorising Engineers.
