TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Learning CPD Recording and


Auditing IHEEM’s CPD recording system and auditing process supports members in demonstrating that their professional development is planned, relevant, recorded, and reflective. The process supports the wider Engineering Council requirement for professional bodies to monitor registrants’ continuing professional development and competence.


• Members are randomly selected for peer review on an annual basis and


provided with constructive external feedback, reassurance that their approach is appropriate, and an opportunity to identify gaps in their development. It ensures proactive learning, effective practice, and that knowledge is kept up to date and in line with modern practice.


• CPD Auditors are experienced IHEEM members undertaking the review, for


whom it provides an opportunity to apply professional judgement, support fellow members’ development, and contribute to maintaining the standards of the profession. It also provides valuable peer-review experience and an opportunity to broaden understanding of CPD requirements and activity across the membership.


IHEEM Learning Events


IHEEM events provide members with opportunities to learn, share experience, build professional networks, and contribute to the development of healthcare engineering and estates management. The programme includes the annual conference and exhibition programme, regional events, training courses, webinars, and STEM delivery,


often delivered with branches, platforms, and other professional partners. Members can participate as delegates,


speakers, chairs, contributors, organisers, or volunteers, depending on the event.


• Attendees benefit from access to current technical and professional


thinking, industry experts, peer networks, and CPD opportunities.


• Event supporters gain equally valuable experience: organising sessions,
