transformation, and leadership through financial constraint.
Universities at the heart of the conversation
Higher education will be equally visible. Morag Beers, Director of Estates and Commercial Services at the University of Aberdeen; Craig Ewing, Director of Facilities Services Hard FM at the University of Glasgow; and Professor Billy Hare of Glasgow Caledonian University are among the university voices contributing to the programme. A dedicated Foresterhill session will explore an integrated NHS and university estate for health, education and research.
A conference and exhibition in one place
The exhibition will be another important part of the event, with more than 20 sponsors and exhibitors expected to showcase products, services, technology, and expertise for healthcare and university estates. The exhibition is designed to give delegates direct access to suppliers and specialists while creating opportunities for practical conversations around current and future projects. The conference is supported by
ETA Projects, IHEEM Event Partner and Gold Sponsor, alongside WSP, Silver Sponsor, bringing industry expertise into the wider discussion about Scotland’s future estate.
Celebrating excellence in Scotland
The first day will culminate in the IHEEM Scottish Regional Conference Awards Gala Dinner at the historic Playfair Library Hall, University of Edinburgh. The Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and achievement across estates and facilities in healthcare, higher education, and the wider public sector.
It is fantastic to be introducing the first IHEEM Scottish Regional Conference. Working alongside the IHEEM Scottish Branch and UHEI, we have developed a programme bringing together senior voices from NHS Scotland, the Scottish Government, universities, and industry. Under the theme ‘Scotland’s Future NHS & University Estate’, we want to encourage genuine collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and experience across sectors.
Pete Sellars, CEO, IHEEM
We are delighted that ETA Projects is supporting the conference as IHEEM Event Partner and Gold Sponsor. The challenges facing healthcare and higher education are increasingly interconnected – from investment and infrastructure resilience to sustainability and digital transformation. Creating an environment where leaders can openly share best practice and explore practical solutions is incredibly valuable. Kim Shelley, Strategic Partnerships Director, ETA Projects
The Awards Gala Dinner will also welcome former Scotland international and captain Kelly Brown as after-dinner speaker. Brown won 64 caps for Scotland, captaining his country on 14 occasions, during a playing career that also included Glasgow Warriors and Saracens.
