estates and water safety professionals. The first event in this new programme – “Looking Beneath the Surface: Understanding the Technologies Behind POU Water Filters” – took place on 14 September. This session responded directly to member feedback and recent clinical incidents, providing clarity on filter selection, performance characteristics, and governance expectations. Invitations were issued to all IHEEM members, and further CPD sessions are planned for later in the year.
• Technical articles & knowledge sharing
The platform is actively contributing to upcoming HEJ editions and the Annual Report through four major articles currently in development:

These pieces reflect the breadth of expertise within the platform and will support national consistency in water safety practice. Several related actions have now been completed, including, submission of conference

The WTP are committed to improving internal governance and communication via:
• Reinstitution of the platform’s action log.
• Improvements made to platform distribution lists.
• Submission and delivery of conference presentations.
• Launch of restricted-access working groups within the IHEEM Technical

These completed actions have significantly
improved the efficiency of meetings, clarity of documentation, and the accessibility of information to members.
• Ongoing workstreams The platform continues to progress
several strategic work streams, including the review of AE application processes, development of training for reviewing pointofuse filters, and contributions to the national rewrite of SHTM 0401. These activities align with IHEEM’s wider ambition to strengthen professional standards and support the next generation of AEs.
This has been a year of consolidation
and forward momentum for the Water Technical Platform. Through CPD delivery, publication of technical articles, and strengthened governance processes, the platform continues to provide national leadership in water safety and estates engineering.
