Regeneration is the innate capacity of living beings to repair themselves by the beneficial use of their own resources. Preserving this property is a key strategy for ageing well and in good health. Long restricted to the cutaneous system,

First-ever modelling Even though this dynamic process exists throughout the entire lifetime, original modelling studies from SILAB Research demonstrated that it is altered with ageing. Through the establishment of scientific


partnerships with two prestigious international research laboratories, SILAB has acquired new technological expertise and has integrated in- house the skills required to develop innovative vascularised models and models of immune cells. This has led to the first-ever demonstration of the depletion of the fibroblast-regenerating complex with age and its harmful effect on the interactions of aged fibroblasts with the cutaneous, vascular and immune systems. Regenerating anti-ageing effect By restoring the capacity of aged fibroblasts to interact with their environment, REGENIXIR® enables a transversal action on the three interconnected systems required for an optimal regeneration process: ■ The cutaneous system: At the epidermis level with a significant improvement of keratinocyte migration (+99%) and epidermal dynamics in vivo ■ The immune system: A significant increase of the differentiation of macrophages into pro- regenerating macrophages (+132%), stimulating matrix restructuring ■ The vascular system: A significant boost in the formation of a vascular network (+55%). This effect involves a significant action on the migration of endothelial cells and their cohesion (+93% and +77%, respectively). In vivo, the visibility of dystrophic microvessels is reduced by 6%, thereby improving cutaneous vascularisation Its cosmetic benefits are multiple. Tested at 2.5% in an emulsion in Caucasian and Asian panels, REGENIXIR® enhances the skin quality as of 21 days of application: ■ Improved skin biomechanical properties, with a significant increase in skin firmness, tonicity and elasticity ■ Reduced appearance of crow’s feet wrinkles ■ Attenuated under-eye circles


■ Revived complexion radiance (effects on reflection, pink colour, olive colour and luminosity) All these benefits continued after 42 days of


treatment and were perceived by the volunteers themselves.


A yeast with health benefits REGENIXIR® meets the market’s and consumers’ requirements in terms of efficacy and safety, but also naturality. Indeed, in the framework of developing this natural active ingredient, SILAB has focused on the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
