Welcome to the February 2022 edition of Personal Care Global magazine. I am conscious that I must sound a bit like a broken record in saying this, but the only certainty in the world at the moment seems to be

continuing uncertainty. We still have no clear view about how the

year ahead is going to turn out in our industry. Some of our articles this month and others I have read elsewhere talk about a post-COVID world and emerging from the pandemic, but it still seems a long way away as the Omicron variant continues to bulldoze its way through the world. that show has already been postponed to July. We can but keep our fingers crossed for the other major events in the early part of the year, particularly In-Cosmetics, around which the April edition has already been organised. The demand for innovative, natural and

sustainable personal care ingredients will continue to grow through whatever circumstances throw at us and Personal Care Global will continue to highlight the best of it. And on that note, here is a reminder of the areas of focus for the rest of Q2 and the deadlines for first drafts: ■ May: Sun Care, Textures, Anti-Pollution (4 March) ■ June: Testing, Trending Technologies, Hair Styling (8 April) I should stress, however, that we are never

limited to the scheduled features in any edition and there is always cope for including interesting articles that are not in the schedule ad hoc. These typically account for about half of the content and we are always open to ideas whenever you have a new ingredient to showcase, some results to share or some pertinent observations to make about the market as a whole. And I like it when people come to me rather than me having to go to them!
