He will be followed by Sébastien-Jun Mougnier, Market Development Manager at Arkema in France, who will explore the company’s expanding biobased materials toolbox, which now extends from elastomers to reinforced polymers, and what they offer in terms of new design opportunities. Innovation in footwear materials can provide the essential ingredients required to simplify designs while delivering better performance, supporting greater manufacturing automation and improving sustainability outcomes for footwear producers and brands alike. The final session of the conference follows this theme and opens with a presentation by Kenneth Kim, Market Development Manager Lubrizol Engineered Polymers, at Lubrizol Ad- vanced Materials in the US. Paula Rodrigues Camilo, Research Scientist at Braskem in Brazil, will discuss innovative resins based on EVA as new raw material options for the footwear market. She will explain how they can provide products that deliver final customer benefits such as improved anatomical design, greater flexibility, and lighter weight and comfort. The conference will close with a presentation by Dr Luc Peeters, R&D Manager at Kaneka Belgium, who will detail the evolution of isocyanate-free flexible foam for footwear.
