Ampacet’s product offering at Fakuma will include its latest Antiscratch 1000617-E masterbatch additive, which is designed to enhance the appearance of injection and blow moulded PE and PP parts by minimising the development of wear marks and scuffs during manufacturing, transport and handling. AntiScratch 1000617-E is said to perform well on clear and coloured parts and has no impact on colour, odour or gloss. �

BASF’s display for Fakuma includes its latest HALS light stabiliser, Tinuvin 880, which is claimed to deliver the high levels of UV resistance and low emissions required for today’s automotive interior applications while also offering extended thermal stability. The company will also show its Tinuvin XT55 stabiliser for fibre and film applications. This grade is said to offer good light stabilisation and improved processing. The company says it will also introduce two new polyamide low emission and odour grades, which are also formulated for automotive interior applica- tions. The company has provided no detailed information on these grades at the time of writing but says they will open up new design opportuni- ties for high gloss surfaces and backlit structural and functional parts. headlamp reflector produced in the company’s high heat resistant Ultrason E polyethersulphone (PESU) for the Hyundai X35. Easily metallised and able to withstand continuous operating temperatures of 180°C (up to 220°C for short term exposure), PESU offers simple processing and good dimensional stability. The latest addition to the product line is Ultrason E Dimension, a highly-filled grade formu- lated for outstanding dimensional stability. �

BIEGLO will show its CoPEEK high performance polymer, which earlier this year gained ISO 10993
medical certification, at Fakuma. CoPEEK is manufactured by Panjin Zhongrun High Perfor- mance Polymer, which has a production capacity of 1,000 tonnes /year in China. The certification covers the use of CoPEEK powder and granular forms in medical industry applications. Bieglo can supply the resin as a filtered grade or in a high viscosity version for micro moulding. It is also available as a filament for 3D printing. �

Brüggemann Chemical will present its Bruggolen TP-M1417 modifier. It allows compounders to precisely adjust the relative viscosity of polyamides to allow “upcycling” of high-viscosity polyamide scrap to quality injection moulding grade resin. According to the company, the addition of TP- M1417 can provide the required relative viscosity without deterioration of mechanical properties. Stiffness, tensile strength and impact strength are on a similar level to virgin polyamides, the com- pany says, allowing recycled materials to be used in the same applications as virgin material of a corresponding viscosity. The modifier can also be used by polymer
producers to tailor the viscosity of polyamide at the compounding stage, allowing optimisation of viscosity for particular applications or to provide a means to reuse off-spec batches. TP-M1417 is supplied as dust-free granules suitable for accurate metering and is easy to process and readily compatible with the polyamide matrix. �
