Tracking the next steps in footwear innovation
The footwear industry is fast moving and highly competitive, with producers striving hard to gain advantage in areas such as performance, aesthetic appeal, and cost effectiveness. Selection of polymer materials and processing technologies plays a key part in securing competitive advantage and will be discussed in detail at AMI’s first Poly- mers in Footwear conference, which will be held in Dusseldorf in Germany on 11-12 December 2017. This brand new international event will bring together polymer and additive suppliers, com- pounders, processing machinery experts, shoe designers, manufacturers and brand owners/ end-users. The event is intended to provide a platform for all footwear industry professionals and their supply chain to exchange ideas, learn about latest devel- opments in this market and to grow their network. It has already attracted representatives from leading players in the footwear industry, with participants including Clarks, Ecco, Nike Air, Puma, Vibram and Vivobarefoot/United Nude.
