SHOW PREVIEW | FAKUMA 2017
1,920 kg/h. The company will also show an RDT-250 stationary dry air dryer with PLC control that is suitable for throughputs of up to 200 kg/h. The mobile auxiliary dryer range is represented with the RDM-20/50, RDM-40/100 and RDM- 70/200 models. These comprise a dry air generator and single chamber drying bin. All stationary and mobile RDT and RDM models
offer drying temperatures of 60°C to 140°C as standard, with high temperature variants for up to 180°C being available as an option. Smart energy- saving systems make the dryers particularly resource- efficient: drying air volume is matched to throughput and regeneration cycles are controlled on the basis of the actual water content of the pellets. The dryers are also said to be simple to install, clean and maintain and offer integrated dry air conveying for automatic machine charging as an option. ProTec will also be showing the latest develop- ments in its proprietary pultrusion technology for LFT production. The company can supply custom- configured LFT production lines to process any conventional thermoplastic; reinforcement options include glass, steel, aramid and carbon fibres. Recycled material and additional fillers can also be included. Protec says that lines can deliver outputs of up to 1,000kg/h.

Schenck Process will show the latest version of its Disocont Tersus loss-in-weight feeder control system. New features include customisable calibra- tion sequences, detailed event message text, the option to hide less frequently used parameters, and the use of HTML5 for online equipment monitoring. The latter provides improved compatibility with various web browsers and smart phones, according to the company.

SortCo will be promoting its recently expanded inspection, de-dusting, sorting and metal separation services for plastics compounders and users. The company says that this expansion has provided it with more capacity as well as allowing it to offer improved defect analysis and just-in-time operations. The PelletSorter DS sorting system at the company’s plant at Niederzissen in Germany takes in de-dusted material and passes it through a six camera inspection system that can spot and remove impurities down to 60 microns. The system is manufactured in stainless steel and includes an integrated metal detection system to avoid risk of in-plant contamination.

66 COMPOUNDING WORLD | October 2017
Meet the AMI team
Visit us at Fakuma at stand B2-2222 to speak to one of our AMI experts face-to-face to get advice and insight on your current projects or to learn more about our conferences, exhibitions, databases and digital magazines. The Fakuma trade fair will be AMI’s first outing following our company re-brand in August. We look forward to welcoming you onto our new stand, where you will be able to view our compre- hensive global databases of injection moulding, compounding and extrusion sites. You can also speak to us about our consulting services, which cover downstream analysis of end-use markets, key processing technologies as well as current and future trends in the plastics industry. Find out more about our new industry-focused exhibi- tions; Compounding World Expo 2018 and Plastics Recycling World Exhibition 2018. And review our busy calendar of forthcom- ing conferences for 2018. Chris Smith and David Eldridge, editors of Compounding World and Injection World respectively, will also be at the show in Friedrichshafen to bring you the latest stories and breaking news via our @PlasticsWorld twitter feed. Don’t miss their reviews in the November issues of the magazines next month. To celebrate the new AMI brand, visitors to the stand will be able to take part in a short quiz; daily winners will receive a case of champagne. Plus, enjoy a drink with us from 3pm each day.
Whether you are exhibiting at or visiting Fakuma, we look forward to welcoming you on our stand B2-2222.
