She will detail the com- pany’s innovation process, including development, design and concept validation, as applied to the latest Puma evoPower Vigor soccer boot. Next up will be Carola Seybold, Director Business Devel- opment at Pantone in Germany, who will discuss colour trends in footwear for 2018/2019 and how they can be realised in different materials. The focus turns to the future of footwear manufacturing in the second session, with the focus on 3D print technologies Dr. Marcus Rechberger, responsible for market development of Luvosint 3d print materials at Germany’s Lehmann & Voss will address the current additive manufacturing mega trend in media and tech talks and will explore the potential for 3D printing to become part of the footwear industry’s future, even when it comes to mass production. Rechberger will be followed by Evgeniy
Khavkin, Project Manager at Agor in Germany, who will focus on new developments in additive manufacturing of insoles from TPU. Then Christian Oetjen, Design Lead at ScherfDesign of Germany,
Polymer innovation The conference will then turn its focus on to the latest polymer technology developments. This session will be opened with a presentation by Kirit G Chandan, Technical Director at Technovinyl Polymers India (KK-Group) who will talk about innovative compounds for footwear applications. He will be followed by Miguel Prieto, Regional Application Technology Leader at Dow Europe in Switzerland, who will explain some of the material innovations being applied and considered in the athletic footwear sector. The session will conclude with a presentation by Dr Martin Baumert, Director - Head of Technical Development at BASF in Germany, who will explore some new perfor- mance material solutions that can deliver lightness and cushioning, as well as high rebound and hydrolysis resistance, in footwear applications. Session four will showcase new functionalities
that enhance the consumer experience. Christine Niklas, Product Manager at Sanitized in Switzer- land, will deliver a paper on the company’s newly developed footwear odour test and evaluation concept. Giovanni Henssen, Business Develop- ment Manager at DSM Dyneema in the Nether- lands, will explore the role of UHMWPE fibres in improving the comfort and durability of footwear. And the first day of the conference will be brought to a close by Olivier Frederix, Marketing Manager at Radiant Color in Belgium, who will speak about the use of formaldehyde-free fluorescent colours in polyolefin and EVA foams for footwear applications.
