SANTA CLARA, CA — OMNIVISION has introduced the newest image sensor in its broad mobile product portfolio: the OV50M40. Incorporating advanced technologies for front, main, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras in smartphones, the OV50M40 is a versatile 0.61 µm pixel CMOS image sensor with 50 MP out- put and functions such as single exposure dual analog gain (DAG) video HDR and always-on low power. The OV50M40 supports both staggered
HDR and DAG HDR technology. Staggered HDR ex tends dynamic range to improve the quality of video and still-image capture; the addition of built-in DAG provides single-expo- sure HDR support, reducing motion artifacts in challenging lighting conditions.
Softing Intros VFL for Fiber Optic Cables
KNOXVILLE, TN — Softing has released its CableMaster VFL (visual fault locator), a fiber optic visual fault locator, continuity tester and polarity detector. The CableMaster VFL pro-
vides continuity testing and fault location for optical fibers in both single mode and multimode. By emitting a pulsed or continuous

visible laser, this device can detect mechanically damaged fibers and fiber ends. A Class 2 laser, the CableMaster VFL emits light at a 635-nanometer wavelength and transmits less than 1 milliwatt of power. While operating in pulsed
mode, it offers up to 40 hours of battery life on two AAA batter- ies. This tool can test fiber optic cables up to 5 kilometers. For fiber connection, it features a universal adapter to connect to all common 0.1 in. (2.5 mm) con- nector systems. An additional 0.05 in. (1.25 mm) adapter is also available. Featuring a compact and ergonomic design,
the
CableMaster VFL is ideal for field applications, as well as for data centers, industrial environ- ments and laboratories. Users can also easily operate the device

The OV50M40 image sensor achieves
excellent low-light performance due to four-cell binning of the 0.61 µm pixel size, built-in advanced noise reduction technology and high- gain mode support. It can achieve up to 64x
analog gain for four-cell binning resolution. The OV50M40 supports phase detection
autofocus (PDAF) for both binning and full resolution modes with hardware re-mosaic on platform, which ensures high-quality tele- photo camera crop-zoom performance. It supports the always-on function for
motion detection and ultra-low power. The OV50M40 can consistently capture high- quality images with rear-facing or front-fac- ing cameras, and it enables 2x or 3x high- quality crop-zoom for telephoto cameras with
fast mode switch. Contact: OMNIVISION, 4275 Burton
