www.us-tech.com Optimized THT Inspection from GÖPEL
JENA, GERMANY — With the MultiEyeS plus, GÖPEL electronic offers a powerful auto- matic optical inspection module for integration into assembly and THT placement stations. The company also offers user-guided assis- tance during THT placement. The combination of an intelligent assistance function for THT placement with reliable and reproducible opti- cal inspection makes a significant contribution to an optimized THT placement process. The MultiEyeS plus inspection module
is based on a 47 MP image acquisition unit equipped with a flexible LED lighting sys- tem, providing a very high image quality and detail resolution with an inspection area of up to 25.6 x 21.7 in. (65 x 55 cm). The module is able to reliably verify the presence, posi-
EpoxySet: UV Cured Epoxy for Active Alignment
WOONSOCKET, RI — EpoxySet has introduced the Flashbond® UV-3720 for active alignment ap- plications. Originally formulated for camera modules, this state- of-the-art epoxy is an excellent choice for optical devices, sensors and electronic modules where holding the alignment is critical. The UV-3720 is a dual-cure
system that can be cured with UV energy or heat. It cures in seconds under UV and can pro- duce the same high properties with a 257°F (125°C) cure (and no UV energy). This makes the UV-3720 ideal for bonding shad- owed areas and complicated con- figurations to eliminate the need for more than one adhesive. UV-3720 offers a cure shrink-
age of 0.015% (with either UV or heat). This rigid polymer has a
tion, and color of THT components, read la- beled or laser-edged 2D codes and barcodes, as well as recognize text. A powerful laser projector was integrat- ed into the AOI module to implement the as-
sistance function. This option makes it possi- ble to intuitively support the manual place- ment process by displaying placement infor- mation, such as the position or component type, directly in the operator’s field of vision. This prevents placement mistakes and
achieves reproducible placement results, even with a large variety of products. In ad- dition to displaying information during the placement process, faults detected by the AOI during placement are also displayed di-
rectly on the PCB. Contact: GÖPEL electronic GmbH,

glass transition temperature of 311°F (155°C) with a CTE of 30 ppm/°C. It is perfect for holding alignments through a tempera- ture range of –67 to +392°F (–55 to +200°C). This halogen-free sys- tem withstands 85/85 testing for 1,000 hours with an exceptionally low water absorption rate. Pro- ducing excellent bond strength to PPS as well as polyimides, poly- ester film, LCPs and all elements
in printed circuit boards. Contact: EpoxySet, Inc., 718
