The Celebration of Faith SECTION E E. By receiving Holy Communion
Full participation in the Mass means that you must receive Holy Communion. This means consuming the body of Jesus under the appearance of bread and, sometimes, the blood of Jesus under the appearance of wine.
As Catholics, we believe that Jesus is really present in the Eucharist. When we receive the Eucharist, we believe that we are receiving spiritual nourishment. This strengthens our faith in God.
